Meet Rain

Learning in relationship with land, children and art 🌿

The work here is devoted to reimagining the image of the child — within and without — and is shaped by the understanding that what we carry does not begin with us alone.

Children and adults move within families, places, systems and rhythms that shape how we feel, respond, and make sense of the world. When strong feelings or behaviours arise, they are often expressions of these conditions — ways of responding, adapting, and surviving — rather than signs that something is wrong.

The work here is not about correction or control. It is about relationship.

About gently coming back into connection — with self, with others, and with the wider living world — rather than asking anyone to be different from who they are.

This is slower work. It asks for curiosity, consent, and a willingness to listen closely. For those who feel drawn to this way of working, this space offers creative, relational support and steady accompaniment over time.

  • Neurodivergent children and adults (autism, ADHD, sensory processing)

Children and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, or transition

Adults and parents exploring their own responses and patterns

  • Sessions are art-informed, somatic and relational. We work with creative materials, play, and conversation to make space for what's happening beneath the surface.

The focus isn't on predefined outcomes or changes in behavior, but on creating conditions where expression, meaning-making, and connection can unfold.

This often resonates with children and adults who are drawn to creative processes, relational presence, and spaces where nothing needs to be managed, performed, or fixed.

  • You sense something deeper is happening beneath the behavior

You're willing to look at the whole system, not just your child

You want support that doesn't pathologise difference or demand compliance

The idea of moving from "what's wrong?" to "what's being communicated?" feels like relief

  • You're looking for strategies to make your child calmer or more compliant

You want quick fixes or behavioral management

Services

    Art Therapy

Art therapy uses creative materials like paint, clay, and drawing to explore feelings and experiences that sit beyond words. Sessions focus on the process of making, not the finished artwork.

    Holistic Therapies

Psych-K® works with subconscious beliefs through body-based balances and movement. Access Bars® involves gentle touch on thirty-two specific points located on the head to release stored mental and emotional charge.

  • Colorful nursery mobile with geometric shapes hanging from a wooden rod

    Parenting Support

Counselling for parents exploring their responses, patterns, and feelings that arise in caregiving. Sessions create space to reflect on what shows up in you without needing to fix or solve.

  • Illustration of a lion's face with a golden mane made of radiating lines, simple facial features, and small rounded ears.

    SSP

The Safe and Sound Protocol uses specially filtered music to support nervous system regulation. Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, it's delivered over multiple sessions with careful monitoring, pacing and support.

  • "Rain works in a child-led way where each individual is afforded opportunities for dignity and agency. She offers a gentle and safe space where children can be seen and heard, using the language that comes naturally to them; the language of play and creativity."

    - Dr Carla Van Laar, Convenor of PACFA’s College of Creative and Experiential Therapies (CCET)

  • "We have worked with several therapists over the past 7 years and we have never met any that has come close to Rain in terms of the support she has offered - which has led to amazing progress for my child. The Art Therapy industry is lucky to have Rain and it is my belief that the world would be a much better place if there were more therapists like Rain."

    — Rebecca

  • "We have been engaged with Rain’s services since late 2023 and have consistently found her practice to be ethical, respectful, and, in many ways, life-changing. I was drawn to Rain’s holistic approach to therapy as it aligned closely with my own values and provided a safe space to explore my parenting styles, relationship barriers, and life goals, while also supporting my child to develop self-confidence, manage anxieties and stressors and celebrate their inner self."
